2 Voice Poem

I HAVE SO MUCH WORK TO DO

If I don't do my work I get beaten by my foster parents

If I don't do my chores I don't get Ice Cream for Desert

I HAVE NO FRIENDS

I have no friends so I sit and look out the window

I have no friends so I play video games

I WISH I HAD SOMETHING ELSE TO EAT

I wish I had a real home cooked meal

I wish I had some pizza

I GET BULLIED

I get beaten by the other orphans

I get made fun of by kids at school

I WISH I HAD A BETTER LIFE

I wish I had parents

I wish I didn't have parents

On The Devil's Court Part 2

When I last left off Joe was told by the coach that he should join the Junior varsity team. One day Joe walked by a abandoned building. A few days later Joe decided to go in to see what it was. He was surprised to see that it was a abandoned gym. Joe would then go there to go play ball. Since fall was approaching it was getting darker and the only light source was the light that was coming from outside. One day he was able to see the shadow of the backboard. Joe noticed that the shadow was different from what it actually looked to him. That day he was able to shoot better.  He was shooting so good that he decided to sell his soul to the Devil. He tells the Devil "Give me a full season of power, and my soul is yours." He decides to sell his soul to the Devil because in English class his teacher assigned everyone to read about a Doctor named Faustus who asks the Devil for 24 years of  power.
The next day Joe tries to impress the coach so that he can join the varsity team. Coach was so impressed that he was shocked to tell Joe that he can join the varsity team. Joe went to his first practice with the team and he was confused by the different plays they had. John then helped him remember the plays. On the teams first game Joe sat on the bench for most of the game expect for the 4th quarter. When the 4th quarter started the team was down by 57-48. Joe then started to play and that's when the team started to play better. Joe helped the team get the win. When the team was down 65-57 there was only four minutes left. 70-67 with a minute to go. The team was then down by 1 point with only eighteen seconds left. Joe was able to get the ball and go for an easy lay-in to help the team win 71-70 in their first game. On the team's second game Joe was the starter. They were playing a Metro team. The nobody expected the team to beat them. But they were shocked. Eastside Academy had beaten Collins Academy a Metro team. In the locker room the team manager came in with a stat sheet and was shocked when he got to Joe's named. Joe had scored thirty points that day. Twelve if sixteen fr f the field including two three pointers, and four for five from the foul line. Joe was having an amazing season so far that the coach was telling the team to feed Joe the ball. He didn't want some of the guys to shoot from outside. He want Joe to do most of the shooting for the team.

Social Awareness 1

(Eminem Talking)
Yeah.... it's my life.... in my own words i guess....

(Verse 1)
Have you ever loved someone so much
You'd give an arm for
Not the expression
No, literally give an arm for
When they know they're your heart
And you know you were their armor
And you will destroy anyone who would try to harm her
But what happens when karma
Turns right around to bite you
And everything you stand for turns on you despite you
What happens when you become the main source of her pain
"Daddy look what i made"
Dad's got to go catch a plane
"Daddy where's mommy?"
"I can't find mommy, where is she?"
"I don't know, go play, Hailey baby, your Daddy's busy"
"Daddy's writin' a song, the song ain't gon' write itself"
"I'll give you one underdog, and you got to swing by yourself"
Then turn right around in that song, and tell her you love her
And put hands on her mother who's a splittin' image of her
That's Slim Shady
Yeah baby Slim Shady's crazy
Shady made me
But tonight, Shady's rock-a-bye-baby, huh...

(Chorus)
And when I'm gone, just carry on
Don't worry, rejoice
Everytime you hear the sound of my voice
Just know that, I'm lookin' down on you smilin'
And i didn't feel a thang
So baby don't feel no pain
Just smile back
And when I'm gone, just carry on
Don't worry, rejoice
Everytime you hear the sound of my voice
Just know that, I'm lookin' down on you smilin'
And i didn't feel a thang
So baby don't feel no pain
Just smile back...

(Verse 2)
I keep havin' this dream
I'm pushin' Hailey on the swings
She keeps screamin' she don't want me to sing
"You're makin' Mommy cry"
"Why? Why is Mommy cryin'?"
"Baby Daddy ain't leavin' no more"
"Daddy you're lyin'"
"You always say that, you always say this is the last time"
"But you ain't leavin' no more, Daddy you're mine"
She's pilin' boxes in front of the door
Tryin' to block it
"Daddy please, Daddy don't leave, Daddy, no stop it"
Goes in her pocket, pulls out a tiny necklace locket
Its got her picture
"This'll keep you safe, Daddy take it with ya"
I look up, it's just me standin' in the mirror
These fucking' walls must be talkin'
Cause man I can hear 'em
They're sayin' you got one more chance to do right
And it's tonight
Now go out there and show 'em that you love 'em 'fore it's too late
And just as I go to walk out of my bedroom door
It turns to a stage
They're gone, and the spotlight is on
And I'm singin'

(Chorus)

(Verse 3)
Sixty thousand people
All jumpin' out their seat
The curtain closes
They throwin' roses at my feet
I take a bow
And thank you all for comin' out
They're screamin' so loud
I take one last look at the crowd
I glanced down
I don't believe what I'm seein'
"Daddy it's me, help Mommy, her wrists are bleedin'"
"But baby we're in Sweden"
"How did you get to Sweden?"
"I followed you Daddy, you told me that you weren't leavin'"
"You lied to me Dad, and now you made Mommy sad"
"And i bought you this coin, it says NUMBER ONE DAD"
"That's all i wanted, i just want to give you this coin"
"I get the point, fine, me and Mommy are goin'"
"But baby wait..."
"It's too late Dad, you made your choice"
"Now go out there and show 'em that you love 'em more than us"
"That's what they want, they want you Marshall they keep"
"Screamin' your name, it's no wonder you can't go to sleep"
"Just take another pill, yeah i bet you you will"
"You rap about it"
"Yeah, Word, K-K-Keep It Real"
I hear applause, all this time I couldn't see
How could it be, that the curtain is closin' on me?
I turn around, find a gun on the ground
Cock it, put it to my brain
Scream "Die Shady" and pop it
The sky darkens, my life flashes
The plane that i was supposed to be on crashes
And burns to ashes
That's when i wake up
Alarm clocks ringin'
There's birds singin'
It's spring and, Hailey's outside swingin'
I walk right up to Kim and kiss her
Tell her I miss her
Hailey just smiles and winks at her little sister
Almost as if to... say...

The song When I'm Gone by Eminem trying to say is that even if your famous that you should have time for family. In the video is shows Eminem's daughter trying to show him what she made but he tells her to go play cause he's busy trying to a song. Before he leaves to go to Sweden his daughter blocks the front door and tells him not to leave. He then ends up leaving and his daughter follows him all the way to Sweden.
This is showing that his daughter wants to spend time with him its just that he doesn't have time because he has to go to concerts and write songs. All she wants is her dad to spend time with her and her mother. The problem is that he wants to famous and not spend time with family. This is showing me that he cares about his fans more than his family.  This makes me feel grateful to have parents that spend time with me unlike other kids who have parents that are too busy to spend time with their children.

On The Devil's Court Part 1

In my book On The Devil's Court by Carl Deuker the main character Joe has moved with his family to Seattle from Boston. After arriving in seattle he waits a few days before he decides to go down to the near by basketball courts. At the basketball courts he meets two guy's. John and Ross. John goes to a private school while Ross goes to a public school which Joe wants to go to. Back in Boston he attended a private school. His parents went to private school and met at a private school dance.
The reason Joe wants to go to a public school is that he wants to be on a team that's in a league that has more competition. Back in Boston after basketball practice everyone on the team expect him would rush to get to the library. But his father meets a person who has a son that goes to a private school. The son turns out to be John who play basketball down at the courts! His father is convinced of how good of a school it is. One day Joe and his father visit Loyal High a public school and Eastside Academy a private school. After going to both of the school Joe doesn't care if Eastside looks better than Loyal High he chooses to go to Loyal High.
One day a few days before school starts Joe was invited to a party at Ross's house. But there was a problem. His parents didn't let him go to a party unless they the parents. Joe didn't want his parents to meet Ross and his family. He kept on saying that some day he'll invite them. Joe then finally invites them over. When Joe's parents meet Ross and his parents their surprised. Joe has been telling his parents so much about Ross that they though Ross was a different type of guy the imaged. Joe's mother asks Ross if he thinks about going to college Ross says "Me? College? I suppose if some school gave me a new car, the names of some fast girls, and a long list of Mickey Mouse courses,I'd think about it. Otherwise, no way, Jose.(pg.43). So Joe is think that now his parents won't let him go to the party after meeting Ross and his parents. But Joe was shocked to here that his parents will let him go to the party.
At the party Joe doesn't know anybody but Ross. Ross then introduces a girl named  Karen. Joe and Karen drank for a long time. After a while Joe started to get dizzy. So he rushed to the front door and went outside and pasted out. The next thing you know he's on his bed.
He goes down for breakfast and see's his parents. His father tells him that he will attend Eastside Academy. Joe is pissed at himself for what he did. He doesn't want to attend a private school. But at least he will be with John.
At school he doesn't know anyone expect John. So at lunch he eats his lunch by himself. One day Joe goes by the basketball court and watches a 2 on 2 game. Joe then leaves and comes back 5 minutes later and see's that the game is now a 5 on 5 game!
During P.E Joe plays basketball with John. One day the coach of the basketball team comes up to him and says that he should join the junior varsity team. Joe hasn't even tried out for the team and the coach. Joe is very disappointed by what he has been told. John then comes over and tells him how he used to be on the junior varsity team a few years back. So what Joe does is that in every P.E class he tries to show the basketball coach that he is good enough for the varsity team. But the coach keeps telling him that he should join the junior varsity team.
